Wassail Bowl Recipe
The Wassail Bowl is a party punch made from ale, cream sherry, sugar, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and lemon, and served from a punch bowl in punch glasses. Recipe serves 10.
Ingredients
- 6 bottles Beer - ale
- 8 oz Sherry - cream sherry
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Allspice
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp Ginger - ground
- 1 Lemon - sliced
- Garnish: Lemon
- Glass: Pitcher/Punch Bowl
Directions
- In a large pan heat sherry and one bottle of ale, but do not boil.
- Add sugar and spices, and stir until dissolved.
- Add the remaining ale and stir.
- Allow to cool, then add to a punch bowl garnished with lemon slices.
