Agave Julep Recipe
The Agave Julep is a south-of-the-border version of the classic Kentucky Derby Mint Julep drink. A drink good enough to serve on Cinco de Mayo or on Derby Day. Made from tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, club soda and mint, and served over ice in a highball glass.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 oz Tequila - Gold
- 1 tbsp Simple Syrup
- 1-1/2 oz Lime Juice
- 8 leaves Mint - torn
- Club Soda - to fill
- 1 wedge Lime - for garnish
- 1 sprig Mint - for garnish
- Garnish: Mint, Lime
- Glass: Highball Glass
Directions
- Muddle mint leaves and simple syrup in the bottom of a highball glass.
- Fill with crushed ice, then add tequila, lime juice and fill with club soda.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint.
