Betsy Ross Recipe
The Betsy Ross cocktail recipe is a classic American drink for the 4th of July celebrations. Made form brandy, port wine, sugar, egg yolk, triple sec, bitters and nutmeg, and served in a chilled cocktail glass.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 oz Brandy
- 1-1/2 oz Port Wine
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1 Egg - yolk
- 3-5 dashes Triple Sec
- 3-5 dashes Angostura Bitters
- Nutmeg - freshly ground
- Garnish: Nutmeg
- Glass: Cocktail Glass
Directions
- Shake all ingredients, except nutmeg, vigorously with ice in a cocktail shaker.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Top with freshly grated nutmeg.
