Mint Julep Recipe
The Mint Julep is an American tradition in the cocktail genre, served exclusively at Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby since 1938. A southern cocktail full of southern flavors made from bourbon, simple syrup, mint and water, and served in a highball glass full of ice.

- Add a splash of bourbon and mint to the bottom of a mixing glass, and muddle gently, then let stand for a few minutes to release the flavors and aromas.
- Strain into a highball glass, then swirl the glass around to coat all sides.
- Fill with ice, and add the remaining bourbon.
- Fill with water or club soda, and garnish with a sprig of mint.
