The French 75 cocktail is named for the massively effective 75 millimeter gun of World War I. Italy, having sided with the Allies in the Great War, deserves to have their own version of the 75. The Italian 75 cocktail recipe is made from gin, lemon juice, amaretto, basil and chilled champagne, and served in a chilled Collins or highball glass full of ice and garnished with lemon and basil.
