Boxcar Recipe
The Boxcar is a refreshing classic cocktail made from gin, Cointreau orange liqueur, lime juice, grenadine, sugar and egg white, and served in a sugar-rimmed cocktail glass.
Ingredients
- 1-1/4 oz Gin
- 1-1/4 oz Cointreau - orange liqueur
- 1 tsp Lime Juice
- 1 Egg - white
- 1-2 dashes Grenadine
- Sugar - to coat rim of glass
- Garnish: Orange
- Glass: Cocktail Glass
Directions
- Wet the rim of a chilled cocktail glass, then dip into sugar to coat the rim.
- Shake gin, Cointreau, lime juice, egg white and grenadine with ice in a cocktail shaker.
- Strain into the glass without disturbing the sugar rim.
- Garnish with an orange twist.
